3RD ANNUAL TOUR DE GASTOWN BICYCLE RACE

After a hiatus of several years the Tour de Gastown returned in 2002. This year's event was the third annual running since the race resumed. The day is a festive one in Gastown combining entertainment, display booths, food and of course the races themselves. Some streets are blocked off and handed over to pedestrians and for the race all of Gastown is blocked off to vehicular traffic.

This collection of images provides some insight into the activities of the day which had fabulous weather. It is hoped that some of the atmosphere of the prerace and excitement and speed of the actual race come across in this selection.
